Frequently Asked Questions
What registration categories are available? There are three options: Full Experience, Conference Only, and Online Format. The first includes access to all academic activities, 2 nights of double-room accommodation, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, gala dinner, coffee breaks, and a welcome cocktail. It is the most complete option for experiencing the conference in person.
 
What type of room is included in the Full Experience? A double room. Single rooms are subject to availability and require an additional charge on top of the registration fee.
 
What registration profiles are available? Registration categories distinguish between IAC professional member, IAC student member, and non-members. Members of regional partners and Edhuca access the same categories as IAC members.
 
Can companions attend? Yes. In that case, an additional charge applies for accommodation and breakfast. In addition, Complejo Solanas offers different leisure and tourism options.
 
Can I book extra days before or after the event at Complejo Solanas?  Yes, it is possible to inquire about extending your stay before or after the event, subject to availability. For this, we recommend contacting the organizers by email or WhatsApp.
 
Where do the academic activities and meals take place? The academic activities and meals take place within Complejo Solanas. The accommodations are located at an estimated walking distance of 5 to 10 minutes maximum from the Convention Center.
 
What are the main ways to enter Uruguay? The most common entry points are Carrasco Airport (Montevideo), Laguna del Sauce Airport (Punta del Este), and the Port of Montevideo for those arriving by ferry from Buenos Aires.
 
Which airport is closest to Solanas? The closest is Laguna del Sauce (PDP), about 16 km from Solanas, with an estimated travel time of 15 to 20 minutes. It has connections from Buenos Aires, São Paulo, and Santiago de Chile. The main alternative is Carrasco (MVD), about 100 km away, with an estimated travel time of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
 
How do I get from Carrasco Airport to Solanas? One option is to hire a private transfer, with an estimated cost of USD 120 to 180 per vehicle and an approximate travel time of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It is also possible to take a bus to Punta del Este departing from the arrivals area of the airport, with a stop in front of Complejo Solanas (USD 8 to 12). Tickets can be purchased online or at the kiosks in the arrivals hall.
 
How do I get from Laguna del Sauce Airport to Solanas? The most practical option is a taxi, remise, or private transfer, with an estimated cost of USD 30 to 45 and a travel time of 10 to 15 minutes.
 
How do I get from Buenos Aires by ferry? One option is to travel with Buquebus to Montevideo and then continue by bus to Punta del Este. The total estimated travel time is 5 hours 15 minutes to 5 hours 30 minutes, with an approximate cost of USD 35 to 110 per person, depending on the date and fare. From the Punta del Este terminal, the transfer to Solanas by taxi or remise takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
 
What does the online format include? It includes access to the main keynote sessions in live virtual format.
